Resum: L'any 1897 Andrew Lang es va referir a Glam, un dels revinguts islandesos més famosos, com a un “vampir” en el seu Llibre del somnis i fantasmes. Aquest article recapitula el treball de Ármann Jakobsson sobre la funció similar dels vampirs i els espectres islandesos. Després s’examina el cas de Glam i l’heroi de la Saga de Grettir que posteriorment es converteix en l'“exterminador” de Glam.

Abstract:  In 1897 Andrew Lang referred to Glam, one of Iceland's most celebrated mediaeval revenant, as a “vampire” in his The Book of Dreams and Ghosts. This article recapitulate the paper by Ármann Jakobsson about the similar function of vampires and the Icelandic spectres.  Furthermore  the case of Glam is examined as well as the saga hero Grettir who eventually becomes Glam's “slayer”.
